Meat The Flavour is built with your privacy in mind. We do not sell your data, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we collect only what is strictly necessary to make the app work.

What Information We Collect
Meat The Flavour collects the minimum amount of information required to provide its features:
- Device notification token — if you choose to enable push notifications, your device generates a unique token that allows us to send you cook alerts. This token is stored on our server only for as long as you have notifications enabled.
- Cook schedule data — if push notifications are enabled, your scheduled cook times are sent to our server so we can deliver alerts at the right moment. This data is not linked to your identity and is deleted once the cook is complete.
- App preferences — settings such as your preferred temperature unit (°C or °F) are stored locally on your device only and never transmitted to us.
What We Do Not Collect
- Your name, email address, or any account information
- Your location or GPS data
- Any analytics, usage tracking, or behavioural data
- Any advertising identifiers
- Any payment information
Push Notifications
Push notifications are entirely optional. If you choose to enable them, the app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) by Google to deliver alerts to your device. Your device token is sent to our secure server hosted on Railway.
If you disable push notifications at any time, your device token is removed from our server. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Firebase is subject to Google's own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy.
How We Store Your Data
Cook schedule data and notification tokens are stored on a secure server provided by Railway (railway.app), hosted in the United States. Data is retained only for the duration of an active cook and is automatically deleted once no longer needed.
All other app data (preferences, saved cooks, history) is stored locally on your device using your device's own storage. We have no access to this data.
Third-Party Services
Meat The Flavour uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — for delivering push notifications
- Railway — for hosting our notification server
We do not use any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers.
Children's Privacy
Meat The Flavour is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights (UK & EU Users)
If you are based in the United Kingdom or European Union, you have the right to:
- Request access to any personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to how we process your data
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO (UK) or your local data protection authority
